Nutrition Monday

Chew your food!!!
Did you know...

1- first and most important TAKE SMALLER BITES!!! Why is it we need to eat a hamburger in 4 bites. One bite should be about the size of the TIP of your thumb

2- chew your food until it becomes liquid. Some say chew 20-50 times, I am Not going to count my "chews", cause I enjoy conversation during meal times. I do however chew until it is liquid.

3- pit your fork down between bites, and enjoy the flavor of your food. If you are saying " fork???, I don't eat with a fork" that means you are consuming fast food and processed foods and we will talk about that another week.

WHY OH WHY should I chew my food better? What are the benefits?

1- people who chew their food longer are less likely to be obese.You mind tells you body your full, therefor you will

2- Digest enzymes are released in your saliva and so your food starts to digest before it hits your stomach.
The you will have less GAS AND BLOATING!

3- vitamin are absorbed from your food when you chew until liquid.

So give your self a goal. SLOW DOWN, CHEW YOUR FOOD!

Trends Tuesday

I am a Yoga SNOB!!!
So I like Yoga taught, at a yoga studio, by a certified yoga instructor!
But, I found a Yoga Video that I love!

Nutrition Mondays

Yahoo! It's Monday!
I like to use Monday's as a day to plan my diet and workout for the rest of the week!
This week I am adding CLA supplements to my diet!

CLA can improve the lean mass to body fat ratio, decreasing fat deposition, especially on the abdomen, and enhancing muscle growth.
CLA reduces body fat by enhancing insulin sensitivity so that fatty acids and glucose can pass through muscle cell membranes and away from fat tissue. This results in an improved muscle to fat ratio.
Basically, it will assist in weight loss and muscle tone.

When you add CLA to your diet...
Most important, take CLA only if you are already doing cardio 4-5 times a week and weight training 3-5 times a week!
If you are not already working out, start Your exercise program and CLA today!
1- take it 60 min before your workout (see label to figure out dosage instructions)
2- take on an empty stomach
3- drink with ice cold lemon water, ( just squeeze a little lemon wedge in water)
4- do your cardio or weight training
5- take CLA within 15 min of finishing your exercise!

Where do I get CLA.
You can find it at almost every store.
What is CLA
Conjugated Linoleic Acid is a slightly altered form of linoleic acid (LA), an omega-6 fatty acid important to human health. CLA is primarily found in meat and diary products.

Of course you should also research CLA and see if it is right for you.
